3. Train from Zurich to Lausanne

The next morning I walked to the light rail then rode through town to the train station. I had a train pass. I saw a train labeled "Zurich - Geneva Express" and hopped on, and started enjoying the right. Geneva was two the west, but the train seemed to be going east... After about 30 minutes I asked a worker what was going on? He explained the Zurich is not the last top on the Geneva to Zurich Express. I rode the train to nearly Austria, then was back in the Zurich train station about three hours later.

It was about another three hour train ride to arrive in Lausanne. It was interesting that about 2/3 of the way the train staff change from speaking German to French. At this point I new that Jay (and Belle) were at a hotel in Lausanne, but had not spoken with them - this is long before cell phones and emails.

Below are photos of the Zurich train station, followed by some shots out the window during the trip to Lausanne, with the final shot being from the north shore of Lake Geneva.
