One day we took the car "Kermit" about 30 miles East out of Paris to Provins. ("Provins, la Tour César") Visit it on this Google Earth Link - Provins on Wikipedia Although the Tour Cesar (Cesar's Tower) dates back to the 12th century, historians are sure a tower has existed on this spot for much longer, possibly since the days of Roman rule. During medieval times the fortification served as a watchtower, prison, and refuge should the city be attacked. Take a tour of the guardroom, the governor's room, then wind your way to the top of the tower for fantastic views of the town and surrounding countryside.
Belle, Jay, and Aurelia - Jay is holding a baguette. We then walked up to the castle in the background.
This is the view from the castle. The town is a small village surrounded by open space.
Having a picnic. Jay had determined that Volvic was the best bottled water. (At the time bottled water was not common in the U.S.)
