One day we took the car "Kermit" about 30 miles East out of Paris to Provins. ("Provins, la Tour César")

Although the Tour Cesar (Cesar's Tower) dates back to the 12th century, historians are sure a tower has existed on this spot for much longer, possibly since the days of Roman rule. During medieval times the fortification served as a watchtower, prison, and refuge should the city be attacked. Take a tour of the guardroom, the governor's room, then wind your way to the top of the tower for fantastic views of the town and surrounding countryside.

Belle, Jay, and Aurelia - Jay is holding a baguette. We then walked up to the castle in the background.

This is the view from the castle. The town is a small village surrounded by open space.

Having a picnic. Jay had determined that Volvic was the best bottled water. (At the time bottled water was not common in the U.S.)
