Capital City Caper - Sacramento May 2008We were invited to be the 7th and 8th member of the Wells Fargo Insurance team of "Capital City Capers." As a fundraiser, each major sponsor sponsored a team and limo that was sent out to solve clues at different locations. We were sent out with an ice chest of booze and a set of clues. (There were nearly 50 teams - I didn't know that there were 50 limos in Sacramento.) The first stop was Nordstrom's where we were supposed to decipher the Morse Code represented by two sets of manikins. (The customers were confused by dozens of people molesting the manikins.) Next we played a round of Laser Tag at Watt and El Camino against another team and a team of kids who were skilled in Laser Tag. Our final stop was at an open house of condos near 15th and F street, where we had to solve clues and find items. When we returned we found a nice buffet waiting for us, and many nice items raffled off as part of the fundraiser. This was the first time that Kim had gone anywhere in a limo. He recalls when his sister got married many years ago and she and the bridesmaids arrived in a limo... it seemed so classy. Kim had joked with Mike's kids not to play with matches while we were out. When we returned home we saw that a house on our street had burned down - because a kid was playing with matches in the garage. |
