August 28, 2009 - Tea Party Sacramento

The Tea Party Express kicked off in Sacramento today. I stopped by and took some photos. Christian Science Monitor article is one of the few media to mention the 100 trucks that were protesting CARB - which under AB 32 mandates that by 2020 (10 years from now) California's greenhouse gas emissions drop to 1990 levels. Most people don't understand that this means dropping fuel consumption back to 1990 levels. The best way to keep consumption at 1990 levels is to keep population stable at 1990 levels - and the biggest factor in the increase is the migration of high birthrate immigrants - which continues today.

I don't know if Christian Science Monitor's referring to participants as the derogatory term "tea baggers" is intentional. CNN article does not mention the truck convoy.
