2009

Merry Christmas Family and Friends,

We hope that everyone had a good year. We are thankful that we are both still employed and healthy. Please see www.kimberry.com/archives/ for more photos, videos, and details about our year.

The year ended well with Stephanie accepting an offer as a Construction Project Manager for Intel in Chandler, Arizona – a suburb of Phoenix. She graduated from USC in May with a BS/MS degree in civil engineering and architecture. Governor Schwarzenegger gave the commencement speech and also received an honorary doctorate degree. Stephanie spent six months searching for a job and in the end it looks like she got a good one. Her education and months of waiting has paid off. She starts at Intel on January 4, 2010.

While in LA we walked to Hollywood Blvd, had lunch on the Queen Mary, and spent a day at Disneyland. They had beer and wine tasting in California adventure. Kim and Stephanie took the last ride of the day on Space Mountain after an extensive round of tasting.

Stephen is now a junior in Computer Engineering at Cal Poly SLO. Among his hobbies is playing Black Jack at nearby Chumash Casino, where the age limit is 18. He also likes to snowboard. His hardest classes this last quarter were Systems Programming and Analog Signal Processing.

For Father’s Day we rented a ski boat on nearby Folsom Lake and had a great time.

Twice we went to Nevada City, about an hour drive into the foothills, to attend raw food lectures by David Wolfe. The second time we were joined by friend Mark Blackburn and his wife.

We spent July 4th weekend in Santa Cruz with Kim’s sister Ingrid and family. They had rented a house up on a cliff overlooking the beach.

In August we went on the “Placer Hills Wine Tour” and learned of several good wineries just 30 minutes from home. We visited: www.secretravine.com, www.cristaldivineyards.com, www.duartefamilyvineyards.com, and www.lonebuffalovineyards.com.

In September Kim performed in the Weekend Warriors doing vocals and keyboards. YouTube are here.

Finally we celebrated the "weekend before Christmas" in Reno with Kim's sister - photos here.
